Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) gets CyanogenMod ROM
For those of you, who have just got their new Samsung Galaxy S4 from Verizon Wireless, we have a surprise! Yes, though it was said that there won’t be a CyanogenMod ROM for this device, we are happy to announce its release. So now you don’t need to wait for the official Google Edition of the best mobile phone in the world – the new ROM will provide a cool version for you. Have in mind that the official Samsung’s Google Edition will not support Verizon CMDA, while CyanogenMod ROM provides you with an original Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with great features added.
If you are one of those eager fans of modifications and has already rooted your Samsung Galaxy S4 and the bootloader is now unlocked, you will just have to wait some more till the crew that prepares CyanogenMod ROMs release the next series of builds for the devices they support. Now they have added to the list of supported devices Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S4 next to the version of two other carriers. If you own a Verizon unit, you want to find “jfltevzw” on the download page of the crew.
For those who have missed to understand what CyanogenMod is all about, those guys create a copy of what Google will release after some time – a stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with thousands of new features, tweaks, functions, optimizations and everything you can imagine. So, what you got in the end is, according to some users, the best Android out there. We are of the opinion that the best is the original, but everyone has the right to decide for themselves whether to spoil…uhm, excuse me, to root his/her Samsung Galaxy S4 or not.
It was initially stated by the crew of CyanogenMod ROM that they won’t support Samsung Galaxy S4, but it seems they have changed their minds. However, before you “customize” your device, we advise you to think twice!
