Samsung Galaxy Light arrives at T-Mobile
T-Mobile has just announced a number of new devices and one of them is the Samsung Galaxy Light. Similar to both new Alcatel handsets, the Galaxy Light is a budget-oriented smartphone, though the company hasn’t specified its price level and launch date. Fortunately, we can reveal some of the phone specs and despite being a low-end model, the new Samsung Galaxy Light is not a phone that should get tossed aside.
The 4G capable Samsung Galaxy Light features a 4-inch WVGA display, a quad – core processor ticking over at 1.4 GHz and backed by 1 GB of RAM. As you can see, the new budget model has a very good processor that can be found in even mid-range to high-end devices. By comparison, the current high-end Windows Phone is powered by a dual-core processor with 2 GB of RAM. Moreover, the new Galaxy Light has a decent 5 MP camera with LED flash at the back, which places it above the current low- end models on the market. In addition to the 5 MP shooter there’s a VGA camera at the front.
The internal storage is 8 GB, but this model includes a microSD slot so you can buy a cheap card and slide it into the slot. In terms of connectivity options, the Samsung Galaxy Light is equipped with all basics including Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
Whilst the device comes pre-loaded with the popular Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, it is enriched with some T-Mobile software features like Wi-Fi calling.
With that in mind, it remains to be seen what T-Mobile will offer up in terms of a price level. If the price is competitive, the Galaxy Light could attract a fair number of customers.
