Samsung Galaxy J debuts in Taiwan
Samsung recently released a video-teaser “Just for you” where is showed a bit of an upcoming smartphone that reminded a lot to Samsung Galaxy J. The date for the announcement mentioned in the video is 9th of December. The day is here and so is the Samsung Galaxy J officially unveiled in Taiwan. The sleek smartphone has a lot from two of its siblings, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
It is a modern and capable device with 5-inches Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080p. As the first rumors for the phone revealed it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip clocked at 2.3GHz and coupled with 3GB RAM. On the board of Galaxy J are packed 32GB internal storage. For users that will need more memory Samsung has added up a microSD slot for cards. The operating system pre-installed on the handset is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Among the key features of the phone is its 13MP rare camera. There is a 1.9MP shooter on the front panel for video calls. The main camera can record a 4K video. The Galaxy J is working with a 2600mAh battery under the hood. In terms of connectivity it provides support for 4G LTE. The new smartphone is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Gear, something that we saw from the video-teaser earlier.
Few weeks ago Samsung Galaxy J was officially announced in Japan and many believed that the model will not cross the borders of the country. The blue variant of the phone will remain exclusive for Japan. The Galaxy J will be released with white and red variants in Taiwan. It is expected to arrive in middle of December or in the first weeks of January. The price of the phone will be 21,900 TWD (equal to$740) SIM free. Another option for buying the handset will be on a contract for 7,990 TWD ($270) down payment with a monthly fee of 1,343 TWD ($45).
