Samsung doesn’t want to lead the way
The fact that Samsung is one of the best, not to say the best, mobile companies in the world, cannot go unnoticed. The latest figures show that the company is number one seller of mobile devices, number two for profits from them (Apple is first, guess why), and number one for customer loyalty. However, Samsung never offers some risky innovations, never tries to introduce a new technology that has never been tried before, it always sticks to the already checked, profitable products. Why?
The chairman Kim Hyun-suk shared Samsung’s secret. According to his words, Samsung doesn’t want to lead the way in mobile technology and the company’s success is based on careful marketing research and planning. In contrast to companies that try to be remembered as ‘the first’ – the first to introduce a dual or quad-core smartphone, the first to unveil a bigger or better display, Samsung has always been one step behind, carefully observing how the mobile society respond to the technological innovations of the rival companies.
Samsung has certainly found the right way to success and tries to follow it closely. Not always, though, as Galaxy Note seemed to be quite an adventurous decision. What we can say, judging from the facts above, is that the company doesn’t take risks, except when there is a guarantee they are worth taking.
