Rumors say Amazon will design a 10.1-inch Kindle Fire
Amazon is aimed at competing with Google’s Nexus 10 and iPad by introducing a bigger version of its Kindle Fire. The future model is going to be with a 10.1- inch screen which will be an improved version of the latest 8.9 –inch models. The 10.1- inch new model will have a screen resolution of 2560 x 1600p and 300 ppi. Compared with Samsung’s Nexus 10, a similar display performance can be expected. The other specifications have not been confirmed yet. The actual production and the launch date are expected during the third quarter of the year.
Actually, the design of a new high-end tablet does make sense. Amazon was quite successful with its 8.9- inch HD Android powered tablet and the development of a bigger model, similar to the market leaders is a logical step forward. For the first quarter of 2013, Amazon is ranked 4th among all tablet manufacturers – after Apple, Samsung and Asus. Amazon was even 3rd back in the time when the 7-inch model was released. So, Amazon could be a real danger for the big players in the years to come after launching the new tablet. Kindle Fire has already made an impact when the first model was introduced. Its sales are still decent even after Microsoft’s Windows 8 tablet launch. Don’t forget that Amazon has some untapped potential – Kindle fire is yet to be launched on several big markets.
Additionally, Amazon is going to release new upgraded versions of its 7 and 8.9 inch Kindle Fire. Several improvements are expected especially in the display resolution. The new models will reportedly have a 300 ppi ratio. You must be warned that you may need to wait for the product release to understand what kind of improvements will be actually made.
