Nokia smartwatch maybe on its way (image leaked)
There have been different rumors for a long time that both Microsoft and Nokia are developing smartwatches of their own.
Even though the acquisition is in progress it seems that neither of the two companies is planning on stopping the development of their product.
Now for the first time we get an image that supposedly shows something from the Nokia smartwatch.
Although we cannot glean much from the image it may be really reliable but the there are real threats that point out that this might be just a good fake.
For one the design is far from the usual design that we are used to see from Nokia even though a nice change would be much appreciated from the giant manufacturer.
The device might be a prototype, which would explain the design, although we all know that even in prototypes there are certain touches that call back to the usual established design of the company that the users are used to by now.
The other thing about the device seen is that it just does not cut it as it really does not look like a commercial device but rather as unsuccessful attempt for something.
If you take a look at the holes of the strap you would notice that they are not evenly spaced and seemingly badly cut so this might be due to (again) that this is a prototype, however, it definitely does not bring any confidence in the device.
If this device is actually a real device (the skepticism here is fairly high) it does not interest with anything in particular. Our assumption, of course, is that the device will be running on a modified version of Windows Phone OS. However, if Microsoft is not far in adapting its mobile OS for smartwatches, this would give Nokia less incentive to put any effort into constructing the device.
