Nokia is sending invitations for its press event for MWC
Nokia officially announced the date of its MWC press event – 24th of February
The beginning of the year was very exciting in the mobile world thanks to big event CES 2014 in Las Vegas. Companies from near and far introduced their latest achievements in the innovative technologies and announced new devices and models with unique capabilities. The next big international event for mobile users is the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. It is scheduled for the end of February.
The event will become the stage for the unveiling of flagships and extraordinary models that we are eager to see. As expected, the companies that will participate in MWC are doing their best efforts to keep in secret their plans for the event. Nokia is among the first manufacturers that begun sending-out invitations for the press event. It is scheduled for 24th of February, Monday at 8:30 am local time. The invitations do not reveal what we can expect from Nokia at MWC. Almost a year ago, the company took the stage of MWC 2013 to announce the Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia 720. The successor of the first model Nokia Lumia 525 is already officially presented in the mobile world, which means that we cannot expect to see it as a bug announcement at the press event. Many predict that Nokia is getting ready to unveil the extraordinary Nokia Normandy running on Android OS.
The ongoing acquisition of Nokia by Microsoft might delay the announcement of the device, so we will wait and see. Even though it is very unlikely, it is not impossible to see Nokia Lumia Icon for Verizon to finally debut in the mobile world. Recently we saw render photos of the device and suggestion for the announcement date for either 5th of February (right after MWC) or 5th of March. The press event of Nokia is scheduled so all we can do is wait and explore the new leaks and gossips. What are your expectations about the announcements by Nokia at MWC?
