Nokia Lumia 1520 to be unveiled on September 26th, a new leak says
Well, Nokia will be pulling out the big guns and we really do mean big not in figurative meaning. The new and first of its kind Windows Phone phablet will be unveiled on September 26th according to a latest leak in the form of tweet on evleaks.
The device is expected to support screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor is powering the whole thing along with 2GB of RAM on board and 32GB of internal storage inside. The Nokia Lumia 1520 will sport a microSD slot.
The device seems to be promising to become the first ever Windows Phone model to come with the GDR3 update that allows Windows Phone to support 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution screens, and a quad-core Snapdragon processor. What is more the GDR3 mode supports the disabling of certain functions of the phone while you are driving and the phone can be paired with the Bluetooth of the car.
A rotation lock which freezes the orientation is another brand new feature of the phone’s screen in portrait or landscape and itwill also be part of the update along with updated mutitasking options and a improved homescreen.
The new Nokia Lumia 1520 now reaches to seal the gap between them and Android and it should be interesting to see if the GDR3 update marks the beginning of a surge in Windows Phone’s popularity. For now by all it seems that Nokia are really pushing it hard to make it possible for them to attack higher spots on the smartphone market.
Will the GDR3 will be the needed step to put them among the devices that really cut the edge of today’s industry it remains yet to be seen. However, first we have to wait until September 26th to see the new Nokia Lumia 1520.
