Nokia Lumia 1020 arrives in Europe and Latin America with 64GB storage space
Not long ago we shared with you the latest leaks about Nokia Lumia 1020. Back then, rumors were suggesting that the device might be announced on 11th of July, during the Nokia Event. Now, only hours before the beginning of the event, it is official that the Nokia Lumia 1020 will arrive in the US, probably in the mobile operator AT&T. The Nokia Eros, as it is known, will be offered with 32 GB internal memory, similar to other devices of the Lumia line, like Lumia 920 and Lumia 928. The new handset has been among the most anticipating smartphones in the recent months.
Leaks related to the phone have been surfacing frequently in the last several weeks. They revealed a lot of information about the device, like its think body, with 1mm slimmer than Lumia 920. It is known that the device will sport and OLED display with a resolution of 768×1280 pixels. The most amazing features of the phone is the 41 MP Nokia Pro Camera with Xenon flash, 6 lenses and tons of extras. Nokia Lumia 1020 (other names of the handset are also Eros, Nokia 909, EOS and Elvis) will be one of the best high-end smartphones in the mobile world that can take excellent pictures and will provide you with a fulfilling mobile experience.
Even though the handset is promising to be fascinating, fans of Nokia have expressed their disappointment by the lack of microSD support in the phone. The only ways that can help you store the awesome photos you take with the innovative camera is through transferring them on your computer or keeping them on a cloud space. Fortunately, some carriers in Latin America and Europe, like Vivo, O2 and Movistar will receive a version of Lumia 1020 with double more internal storage – 64 GB. The official release of the device is planned for September. The launching of the new version of Nokia 1020 becomes possible after an international agreement between Nokia and Telefonica, announced by the Spanish mobile operator.
“Telefónica today announced a global agreement with Nokia to sell Nokia Eros 64 Gb exclusively to Movistar, Vivo and O2 customers in Telefonica markets during 2013. The smartphone will be launched this September.
This announcement is part of the Telefónica strategy to reinforce the smartphone portfolio and increase the ecosystem offer for their customers. Telefónica will actively promote Nokia Lumia Eros 64Gb, as part of Telefónica iconic smartphone offering.
