New rumored Samsung Galaxy S4 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip
The two most famous variants of Samsung Galaxy S4 come with two different processors. The Western markets receive the version with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, while the Eastern markets and many countries in Asia get the Galaxy S4 with an Exynos 5 Octa chip under the hood.
There are rumors that soon we will see a new more powerful version of the handset that comes equipped with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip. One of the sources that gave a hint for this news is the DLNA certification site. The work name of the device “SHV-E330″ leads to the conclusion that it is designed for the Korean market. If this is true, it will be available at the biggest Korean carriers in the near future.
The DLNA certification site reveals three versions of the phone – SHV-E330S, SHV-E330K, and SHV-E330L. The last letters from the work names of the phones are representing the names of the biggest operators in Korea. More information that we get from the DLNA certification site notes that the L and K versions of the listed phones work with Qualcomm’s MSM 8974 chipset. As we know, the chipset is an internal model number of the processor Snapdragon 800.
It is still a mystery why Samsung is planning on releasing a special version of Samsung Galaxy S4 purposed for the Korean market. We are curious to know whether the company is planning on launching the device on other Asian markets as well, later on.
We still don’t have further information about the specs that will come along with the new version of Galaxy S4. There are no details about pricing or a launch date of the handset. What do you think about the new Snapdragon 800-based Galaxy S4 that will be released in Korea?
