New pictures of Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet grab the attention
It has been awhile since we heard rumors about the upcoming phablet by Nokia known with the nickname Bandit, but officially Nokia Lumia 1520. For all of you that have been missing news about the device, there are some new pictures delivered by @evleaks showing the large-sized smartphone with all its glory. The leak consists of high resolution images that give a pretty good glimpse on the design of the new handset. In fact, the pictures look a lot like render images that will be part of the official introducing of Lumia 1520 expected to happen soon. The appearance of the new phablet reminds a bit to the flagship Nokia Lumia 1020 and the high-end smartphone Nokia Lumia 925. The depicted device is posing for the camera in a bright yellow shell. We have seen similar panel of Lumia 1020, therefore from a first look the device reminds of a big version of the camera-phone. Thanks to the images of @evleaks we can see the home screen of the phablet. It consists of several rows with big Live Tiles neatly arranged next to medium-sized Live Tiles. This is how the next update GDR3 of Windows Phone will look like.
As we know, this is the update that will support large-sized screens working on the platform and will make it possible to work on the 6-inches phablet. The Lumia 1520 will boast a resolution of 1080p. The market of the phablets is strongly dominated by the Android devices. The announcement of a Windows Phone running large-sized device is great news for the users of the platform and brings the needed diversity on the mobile arena. The current biggest smartphone running on Windows Phone is the Samsung ATIV S with 4.8-inches display; however it could not win the hearts of users. It seems that Nokia has better success in introducing devices running on the platform.
The Lumia 1520 will work with quad-core processor and will be adorned by 20MP camera on the back. The big date of announcement is rumored to be at the end of the month during the Nokia event. The expectations for the event are rising up with the possibility to see another new tablet by the company, running on Windows RT. Nokia has been focusing on releasing smartphones until now, so the arrival of new phablets by the company is definitely something exciting that we cannot wait to see.
