New low-priced version of Moto X will arrive in the coming months
Do you think that the entering price of $249.99 for the 32GB version and $199.99 for the 16GB version (both with 2 year contracts) for the newly release Motorola Moto X is attractive? If you think that the high-end device is pricey, wait a few months, because Motorola is planning to release a more affordable version of the flagship. The company has announced its plans right after it officially introduced the Moto X in the mobile world.
The new low-priced Moto X (there isn’t any information about the name) will be purposed mainly for the international developing markets. It will fit well in the prepaid wireless markets and in the countries where the usage of subsidized devices is not as popular as it is in the US. The predictions and the speculations about the upcoming smartphone have already begun. Everything shows that the new affordable smartphone will compete against the low-end devices by the biggest manufacturers, like iPhone 5C, Nokia Lumia 520 and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini among others.
The launching of a cheaper version of the main “star” of the manufacturer is not something new in the mobile world. Samsung, for example released the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini which boasts an excellent package of features, however sports a smaller body and slower processor than the original device. Apple is planning to introduce iPhone 5C in the fall – the low-priced version of iPhone 5 that will be affordable for customers. We have seen this strategy provided by Nokia as well with the devices Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia 521.
We are living in the era of high-end smartphones and phablets. However with the dynamics in the tech world you can not be sure what is coming tomorrow. Is the era of the low-priced devices coming next? We will be glad to heat from you.
