New leak with images shows Android 4.4 KitKat
Just recently we saw the redesigned platform of Apple, the iOS 7 already launched and running on devices. Ever since Google announced the upcoming update of its redesigned platform, we are beyond curious to know more. The last weeks brought several leaks on this topic. One of them was the promotional video by Google for the announcement of the Android 4.4 KitKat update. However the video did not have the expected success. It did grab the attention of the audience, but with the Nexus 5 device that appeared in the video.
The smartphone absolutely stole the thunder of Android 4.4. The newest leak however finally shows us a bit more about the redesigned Android platform. The source of the information is the famous website 9to5google. A few images were posted on the site giving us a glimpse on the apps of the new update. What we see is a slightly lighter grey color of the status bar that absolutely fit the concept we saw in the promotional video launched earlier.
Another interesting thing that is noticeable from the photos is the colored status bar that seems to change its color depending on the current working app. As most of the leaks, the information that we can get from the photos is rather limited. The platform is certainly redesigned or at least the phone app and the messaging app are. The locations of some controls are changed. For example, you will see the controls in the messaging up moved to the right corner. The redesigned phone app reveals a nice palette of light blue colors and stands out with a cleaner and more appealing look. There are rumors that we will see the new Nexus 5 in October and it seems that chances to see the Android 4.4 KitKat around the same time are pretty big. The new platform is expected to be integrated in the new Nexus 10 tablet coming up soon.
