New budget tablets announced right before IFA – ASUS MeMO Pad 8 and ASUS MeMO Pad 10
Most of the companies in the mobile world launch the flagship and later on release its smallest variant. ASUS applies a different approach with the affordable new models tablets ASUS MeMO Pad 8 and ASUS MeMO Pad 10. Both slates sport sleek and rather similar design. The similarities between them are more than the differences, so if you have not made up your mind for the size of the tablet, it will not be easy to decide which one of them to choose.
The slightly larger ASUS MeMO Pad 10 comes with 10-inches IPS screen with a resolution of 1280x800p and packs pretty much the same specs as its smaller sibling. It weighs 522 grams. The tablet runs over Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. The processor of the device is quad-core 1.6GHz with 1GB RAM. It assures 16GB built-in memory with the possibility to expand it. The primary camera of the device is rather modest – 2MP shooter on the back. MeMO Pad 10 works with 5070mAh battery. ASUS promises that it will keep your slate running 9.5 hours in video play mode.
The smaller tablet is ASUS MeMO Pad 8 arrives with 8-inches display IPS. It boasts the same resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Another similarity to the bigger budget tablet is the operating system – Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The slate is packed in smaller body – 350 grams. it assures better camera than the bigger tablet. The primary shooter is 5MP on the rare panel with 1.2MP camera on the front side. The tablet is powered by quad-core 1.6GHz CPU and 1GB RAM. It also provides only 8GB storage which luckily is expandable. ASUS has not announced the pricing and the launch date of the budget slates.
