Motorola Moto X vs iPhone 5 first time face to face
Introduction
Now that the new Motorola Moto X is officially in the spotlight the time for nice talk and appreciation is over. It will be fighting hard with all the major competitors in the market and we definitely have to see what it has got against all other major manufacturers. It is time to put the newly designed phone to a test with one of the best products that is out there right up front. Motorola Moto X vs iPhone 5
Design
It is obvious to anyone that the iPhone 5 with the aluminum on the back has that cutting edge premium look and style to it and it is really hard for any device for that matter to beat the iPhone in the design category but there are some details that are worth mentioning at this point that may if not tip the balance at least make you think about the Motorola Moto X. One thing is that the rubbery cover on the Motorola Moto X has really nice grip and its ergonomic shape really makes it comfortable to hold and since this is a device that you are going to spend holding in your hands for quite some time you should think about comfort.
Another thing is that you get the Moto Maker with the Motorola Moto X and with the iPhone you only get Mickael Jackson’s black and white and that’s pretty much it. While in the iPhone nobody thought to offer different colors and the charger goes in the package from Moto have decided to offer a lot of colors and the charger is colored whatever you like and state on the Moto Maker.
Display
As much as we appreciate the design of the iPhone we have to admit that when it comes to display the Motorola Moto X attracts the eye much quicker than the iPhone. For one thing even if you do not know it, it is pretty much obvious that the Motorola Moto X’s display is bigger by 0,7-inches and it is much more vibrant because it uses the AMOLED technology and compared to the iPhone’s retina display it is even more colorful while the iPhone’s display is somewhat blur. For all the pixel counters out there 4-inch Retina Display (640 x 1136 pixels) is the resolution and the raw information about the iPhone 5 and the Motorola Moto X goes with (768×1280) which is just a little bit better. Naturally the details are pretty much identical with both.
Software
The war zone is set. iOS in the left corner and Android in the right – this is probably the thought of most of you when it comes to comparing software. The regular things should be mentioned the Android platform for quite some time registers more growth than the iOS but still the iOS supports apps that are better looking and performing and you can clearly understand that from the developers’ words about both platforms. Probably the greatest asset of the big grey/metallic Apple compared to any other component. Nevertheless, there are a lot of interesting features on the Motorola Moto X also like the Active Display feature and the Touchless Control so it is not all about iOS and Android. The importance is in the effectiveness of both the Touchless Control and the Active Display and the capabilities of the Android to differentiate itself from iOS. The distance between the ways of development for both companies is growing exponentially.
The one thing that Android really makes better than Apple in terms of software is again personalization. When they hear that word in Apple and mass hysteria appears. As you can probably notice with the iOS the aren’t a lot of choices in terms of how you want your widgets and apps to be set and to look like or makind radical changes with the wallpapers and having your phone completely unrecognizable from before. Fortunately for Android they have made the exact opposite in terms of personalization when compared to iOS. There is more and more to be said but it definitely will not be enough to make clear what are all the small differences and needs for improvement in the software of both companies. For now Motorola can rely that the Android is powerful enough to compete against the iOS.
Hardware
When it comes to hardware there is not much to boast with from both companies. Neither is using some ground-breaking processor that will blast your eyes with speed but we can say that both have managed to put hardware powerful enough to make their devices run smoothly and satisfy users. However, there is much to be experience from the Motorola as we have not had the chance to really test the reliability of the hardware of the new Motorola Moto X. Maybe after we complete them there will be some surprises that will occur afterwards.
Camera
Well, here the things are also tied but probably Motorola Moto X has the upper hand here. The 10MP camera with autofocus and Clear Pixel technology is really amazing and it draws the attention to itself as it will probably do fantastic things in low-light. This is a detail that Motorola can build upon in order to make their commercials more appealing for people who are often in low-light environments.
Conclusion
Overall, it is really hard to beat the great one, the first one, the iPhone on its own soil. The effort that would be needed for Motorola Moto X to dethrone the iPhone would be immense and without any sure results. The bright light for Motorola is that the new Moto X will be offered on all US carriers and will really push iPhone in a close battle.
