Microsoft to come up with a fix of the storage problem
Recently a lot of Windows Phone 8 users have been complaining of one and the same problem. The number of complaints has been so big that we should admit the issue is really wide-spread and troubling. It is the following: a lot of users have encountered a massive storage loss recently. When checked, it appeared that the mysterious ‘Other’ category is taking some significant space on the disk.
Microsoft has remained silent till now. It seems the company has been investigating and it also seems that when they are working on something, they don’t like to boast off. However, Joe Belfiore from Microsoft relieved the users today. He answered to a tweet of a Windows Phone 8 regarding the problem, stating that a future update is bound to come and that there is a possible temporary solution for now – to turn off the SkyDrive auto-upload photo feature.
The tweet surely lacks details and us far from official, but is a step towards the solution and turning off the auto-upload seems an interesting fix for now. We don’t have a Windows Phone 8 device here to test it, but if you do have one, we will appreciate your comments on whether it works or not. Meanwhile, another solution has also come out – the application Shrink Storage. We will write a news specifically for it, but if you are eager to try it, download it from the Windows Phone Store.
