Microsoft suggests blocking the iPhones with iOS 6.1
As we reported to you, the iOS 6.1 update came, for a pity, with a few issues. The update improved SIRI and the LTE technology a bit, but prevented a great number of users from connecting to the internet by 3G or from synchronizing with Microsoft Exchange.
The developers of Apple fixed the first problem quite fast, though. There are no more 3G troubles as the company released a fix for the issue. However, the sync problem is still a fact and it is quite serious as it shortens the battery life significantly and makes overheats the phone in a short time.
While Microsoft and Apple are investigating the problem, Vodafone – the European carrier – has already warned its customers against the issues and suggested that the users of iPhone 4S would not update their devices until there is a fix for the bug. After this reaction, Microsoft came up with the idea of temporarily blocking the owners of the problematic devices from Microsoft Exchange, because when they try to synchronize their Apple Mail with the server, everything ends as a disaster – a great number of resources are consumed, the logs start growing exceedingly, the usage of operative memory and CPU increases greatly and, in fact, those who can really use the servers without issue are affected by all this. However, this will be only for a very short period, because Apple released the first fix in no time and are now working on the second.
