Logitech responds to Apple with Ulthrathin Keyboard mini
The scenario from last year is bound to be played again – Logitech comes out with a new Tablet keyboard, suspiciously resembling the iPad mini keyboard by Apple with the name Ulthrathin Keyboard mini. A year ago, when Apple released their popular keyboards for iPad, Logitech didn’t hesitate to strike back with the ‘ancestor’ of the new model – the Ulthrathin Keyboard for Tablets.
Now it seems the seven-inch Logitech keyboard is not too different from the Apple’s one. It’s aluminium and has all the features of the supposed source of inspiration designed for iPad. Slight differences can be observed in the layout of the ports and buttons, but there’s not a striking change. The technology is the same – magnets for the safety of your tablet, automatic On/Off feature and three months life of the battery with a single charge.
Leaving the similarities and differences aside, an interesting question is how convenient the mini keyboard will be. We already saw the 10’’ version, which, to be honest, is a little bit cramped and some of the specialists are not sure whether the new one will be a rational decision. Some of them even mock the miniature keyboard, suggesting a full-size PC keyboard instead. Regardless the arguments and different points of view, the new keyboard will be available in a few weeks’ time when everybody will have the possibility to get it for $79.99.
