iPad and iPad mini to come on 22nd October
It has been now for quite a while now that the Apple announcement date for the new iPad and iPad mini will be held this month. All the rumors were pointing to a date more in the middle of the month and now we have a reasonably credible suggestion by AllThingsD claiming that Apple is about to schedule the iPad event for October 22nd.
As it has turned now into an established tradition the 22nd is a Tuesday. AllThingsD also claims that the event will be invitation-only as it is usual for Apple. The focus of course will be the 5th generation of full-sized iPad as well as second generation iPad mini.
Apple’s MacOS update is also supposed to be included so Mac guys should also get some time as well as the Mac Pro update will be commented (though there are more hopes for the MacBook Pro to have an update soon).
As the tradition and market proclaims it we are expecting thinner and lighter new iPad with considerably reduced bezels. The new A7 processor is expected to be fitted into the device and the second generation of iPad mini is supposed to have similar characteristics along with a retina display. Rumors about the fingerprint scanner being put on both devices have been roaming but nothing is confirmed for now.
If October 22nd is truly the date of the announcement then it is likely to expect the new devices around the beginning of November. However, there are also rumors about huge problems with supply of the iPad mini 2 so there are consistent rumors that the stock of the iPad mini may indeed be very limited.
For now there is not much new information but we are expecting with the date approaching to start to get more and more information on the topic.
