Huawei reveals Ascend P6-U06, world’s “thinnest” smartphone
Having an ultra-thin phone has its advantages. It is light, fit well in your pocket and can have an eye-catching look. At the same time, the capacity of the battery is limited and there is an increased chance of dropping it when you are in a hurry. We have seen different thin devices produced by manufacturers like Alcatel, Oppo, Vivo, Fujitsu and others. Huawei also has some traditions in making ultra thin phones. Ascend P1 S – with its 6.68 mm thickness was a good alternative on the market of slim phones. If you are a fan of these devices you should be happy again.
Huawei has revealed a new super thin Ascend P6-U06 aimed to be world’s thinnest smartphone. According to the documents, the new device will be with just 6.18 mm thickness, which is 0.37 mm less than the current thinnest smartphone – Alcatel One touch Idol Ultra with its 6.45 mm. Besides its thinness, Ascend P6-U06 looks interesting in terms of the specifications revealed. It has a 4.7- inch 720p display, the processor is a quad – core clocked at 1.5 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. There is a 5- megapixel camera and an internal storage of 32 GB.
Running Android 4.1.2, the new device will be a dual – SIM and it’s supposed to be launched only in Asia. Huawei is yet to reveal if there will be a version for the international market. Recently, it was introduced another dual-SIM model A199 expected to be released within the next few weeks. Speaking of ultra – slim devices, you may have heard of the recent Oppo’s plans for making the thinnest phone, supposed to be just 6.13 mm. Well, it seems that these plans are delayed since the latest creature has the “enormous” thickness of 6.93 mm. Stay tuned for more news.
