Huawei expected to present a 7.7 mm Windows Phone 8 handset to MWC
With the Las Vegas CES show finished, now everybody’s turning attention to yet another and more grandiose event – the Mobile World Congress 2013, in February in Barcelona.
The Chairman of Huawei, Yu Chengdong was one of the first to confirm the participation of the company. According to his statement, Huawei shall be displaying two new handsets. One of these is expected to be the long rumoured Windows Phone 8 Ascend W2, claimed to be the thinnest Windows Phone on its release (only 7.7 mm thick), plus having a 4.5 inch HD screen, super-sensitive touch, 8 megapixel camera and the usual dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, and massive 2800 mAh battery capacity. The company has even revealed the price of the device – only 3200 Yuan ($515) , which is a very good bargain!
As for the other handset – it is not clear. Rumor has it that it might be a 6.1 inch Windows Phone, never heard of before.
