A little more than a week ago Huawei officially announced its new flagship, the anticipated Huawei Ascend Mate 2 that debuted at CES 2014. The phablet boasts an impressive set of specs and capabilities that definitely made us more eager to know what the price of the device will be and when it will be available for purchase. Huawei has just announced the price for the Ascend Mate 2. The high-end smartphone is already available for orders by the online retailer in China Vmall for the price of 2688 CNY (equal to $445).
The Ascend Mate 2 boasts a rather large display with 6-inches diagonal. Its LTPS screen features a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood of the phablet that is LTE enabled is ticking a quad-core processor with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip clocked at 1.6GHz. The model that is only 3G enabled comes with a quad-core 1.6GHz CPU with Hislicon V9R1 chip. There are 2GB RAM on board. The phone provides 16GB storage that is expandable via microSD slot. The platform that powers the Ascend Mate 2 is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the Emotion 2.0 UI courtesy of Huawei. The high-end phablet boasts a 13MP primary camera on the back. On the front panel is set a 5MP shooter. The Ascend Mate 2 arrives with an enormous 4050mAh battery that has the extraordinary Reverse Charge capability.
There is more clarity about the availability of the phablet as well. The LTE enabled large-sized smartphone will be introduced to the US market. What we don’t know is which carriers and retailers will offer the phablet and when it is scheduled for launch in the States. The model is available in two color options – Pure White and Crystal Black. The Ascend Mate 2 arrives on the mobile arena to compete against the most advanced phablets on the market today, like Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra among others.
