HTC Zara arrives with HTC One Max? It could be a Windows Phone
The Struggling Taiwanese company HTC is preparing the launch of two new devices in attempts to bolster sales. The first one is well-known; the HTC One Max has a 6-inch display, a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and 2 GB of RAM. It has an Ultra Pixel camera and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. This phone is going to compete directly with the Samsung’s Galaxy Note series.
The second new device, the HTC Zara is mentioned in a publication on China Times. According to the source, the handset is coming in September alongside HTC One Max. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t have the premium metal body of the One and has a plastic design, China Times reveals. So, HTC will probably announce these new smartphones at the incoming event IFA Berlin in September in an attempt to stun consumers with its new line-up.
At this moment it is difficult to say whether the HTC Zara will run Android or Windows Phone 8. We haven’t seen a new Windows device from HTC soon, so it won’t be a big surprise if the HTC Zara is a mid-range Windows Phone. The last models running the Microsoft’s mobile platform were released back in 2012 – HTC 8S and HTC 8X.
Another rumor is that HTC is working on a Windows Phone variant of their flagship device – HTC One, expecting to arrive later this year. According to the latest rumors, the phone will have a screen between 4 and 5 inches and will have an aluminum body with Beats Audio. The future device will probably have the latest GDR3 update of the WP8 platform, supporting quad – core processors and bigger FULL HD displays. GDR3 update is expected to roll out to the Windows Phones around New Year. Stay tuned to PhonesReview to learn more.
