HTC working on a new 5.9-inch phablet with a super-fast processor
A series of publications in different websites reveals that HTC is developing a new 5.9-inch device which will be released later this year. The new ultra-big phone will be a logical step further compared with the current flagship HTC One, offering more power-capacity, the Taiwanese analyzer Laura Chen adds. Considering the fact that HTC has strong connection with Qualcomm and the new processor Snapdragon 800 will be ready for shipments soon, it is quite possible this 5.9 inch phone to be powered by this new high-speed chipset.
Evleaks provides even more details about the possible ultra-big handset. Codenamed HTC T6, it is expected to pack a 2.3 GHz processor with 2 GB of RAM, an ultra- pixel main camera and a 2.1-megapixel front camera. The internal storage will be 16 GB, but the device will feature a microSD slot – something rare for HTC’s new models. Finally, there will be a huge 3300 mAh battery inside. Speaking about the operating system, the HTC T6 may run the next Android Key Lime Pie, Evleaks reveals. In another source we found the information that HTC may be working on a protective case with additional 1250 mAh battery life and on improving the current Sence UI, making it more customizable.
Laura Chen has also analyzed the current situation within the company, stating the opinion that the worst period is already over. After the slow start and the supply issues, HTC has sold over 5 million units HTC One and the situation doesn’t seem so bad now. Supporting the previous rumors, the analyst thinks that HTC will introduce a brand new phone in June as well as an updated Butterfly model sometime during Q3.
