HTC teases upcoming phone launch for next week
Unlike many Android smartphone manufacturers that release multiple devices annually, HTC has been maintaining a low profile. Last year, the company introduced the HTC U23 Pro, and reports from April hinted at a new phone in development. Now, it seems we’ll find out exactly what it is next week.
According to a post on the HTC Taiwan Facebook page, the company is teasing the launch of a new phone. The teaser doesn’t reveal much beyond the announcement date: June 12, 2024, which is next Wednesday.
Speculation suggests that the new handset could be the successor to last year’s HTC U23 Pro, potentially named the HTC U24 Pro. This would make sense unless HTC is planning to unveil an entirely new series. The new device is rumored to be a mid-range phone rather than a flagship model, expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
Additional rumors indicate the phone will feature 12GB of RAM, support for Bluetooth 5.3, and will run Android 14 out of the box. Given that the HTC U23 Pro boasted a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, it’s hoped that HTC will maintain this high standard with their upcoming release.
