HTC has officially denied the speculations that the company is up for sale
This year has been significant for HTC since the very beginning. The Taiwan based manufacturer enjoys a success of its current flagship HTC One. The new model high-end smartphone sports an elegant and attractive body and delivers an excellent performance and a nice set of features for the fans of innovative modern devices. HTC has also released the special Google edition of its main star – the HTC One Nexus Experience. The company has announced the HTC One mini – the small version of the flagship. We expect to see a new tablet as part of the HTC One family coming soon. However the third quarter of the year has not been an easy ride for the company. The latest speculations about HTC give a hint for a possible selling of the manufacturer.
The source of the rumors comes from Alice Sun, a reporter in EE Times who has recently published a post on Weibo – one of the biggest Chinese networks, saying that the CEO Cher Wang is planning to announce HTC for sale. Sun has a reputation for a reliable source of information in the tech world. This time HTC reacted immediately to deny the announced news. The top executive of HTC China, Ray Yam himself denied the rumors.
As a result, Sun has decided to take down the certain post. However the reporter made it clear that she still believes to the news and time will show whether it is true or not. Despite this story turns out to be real or not, it has already provoked predictions, speculations and discussions.
One of the main questions that many of us are curious to know is who would be interested in buying HTC? Another question that we are eager to know is about the reasons that would make the CEO Cher Wang want to sell the company. Perhaps we will have at least some of the answers to those questions in the coming months. Stay tuned and follow our news section.
