HTC Desire 8 aka A5 unveiled in new leaks
The upcoming phablet HTC Desire 8 has been an object of few rumors and leaks in the last days. Thanks to the Chinese website Sina Weibo the existence of the model was unofficially confirmed along with some details on the specs. The 5.5-inch mid-range phablet will boast 13MP rare camera. The speculations about the announcement of the model suggest 24th of February at the MWC event in Barcelona. Another leak shared from the HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR the HTC Desire 8 has the codename HTC A5.
The tipster reveals that the phablet will be released globally. It will be launched by Sprint and AT&T in the US. The model will be introduced in Europe and Asia. The leak sheds some light on the specs of the HTC Desire 8. It sports a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720p. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and Snapdragon 400 chip and 1GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS, perhaps with the Sense 6.0 UI. The primary camera of the phone is a rare 13MP camera, as it was revealed from the previous leaks. On the front panel is set a 5MP camera. HTC Desire 6 features on-screen buttons, similar to The All New HTC One aka HTC M8.
The newest leak for the phablet shared by the famous tipster @evleaks has just revealed some new details for the model. The listed specs are slightly different than the previous leak. According to @evleaks the HTC Desire 8 aka A5 will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU ticking at 1.6GHz (instead of 1.2GHz) in configuration with 1.5GB RAM and not 1GB as it was mentioned before. The internal storage of the phablet will be 8GB with the existence of microSD slot for expansion. The new info that the tipster unveils is that the large-sized handset will be offered in five color options – red, purple, black, yellow and white. There are rumors that there will be a cyan and an orange HTC Desire 8 as well.
