Google will keep on leading the development of Nexus
The hardware that works with Android has changed and improved a lot these days. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition was announced at Google I/O and its price – $649 – was met with surprise and astonishment. Today Sundar Pichai, the Chef of Android, announced that HTC One Google Edition will be priced at $599 in the Google Play Store.
This announcement led to different speculations and arguments about whether or not Google will continue to make hardware for Nexus. The question is worth considering, having in mind that Google hasn’t done anything like that before. It may be a hint about the new direction of the company, or perhaps, Google is just attentive to the needs and desires of the customers.
Sundar Pichai, however, claims the second variant. According to him, the leadership of Google in the development of Nexus software will continue. In a D11 talk Pichai says that the Nexus devices are not connected only to the newest version of Android. The Nexus concept is the development not only of the software, but of the hardware, too. Google will continue to do so, or at least that’s what we get from the words of the Android Chef. Another important thing he said is that Google will continue its partnership with various manufacturers and will offer even more Android-based devices in the future.
If this is really the situation, the news are more than good. Thе best hardware for Android is now available and accessible and you can install whatever operating system you want without rooting. Samsung Galaxy S4, the best smartphone in the world, works with TouchWiz, which cannot be handled by everyone. HTC One is a bit the same – its hardware is perfect, but the OS is not so great. Now the best Android-based devices are out there with some pure Android OS. Their prices are a good deal for unlocked devices without a contract, so everyone should be satisfied. And, to conclude with, the Nexus program will be laying the groundwork for Android in the future, so Google gives us exactly what we wanted.
