Google Nexus 7 will be officially introduced within a week
Better late than never… those of you who were disappointed by the fact that Nexus 7 tablet was not launched as planned in May will be glad to know that latest rumors confirm the release of the device in the very close future. To be more exact, Nexus 7 will hit the markets after one week from today. The sources for this information come from the supply chain for ASUS (the manufacturer of the Nexus 7). They revealed that the company will introduce the new generation tablet with the goal to boost the sells numbers in Q3 this year. Another confirmation for the release date of the slate comes from a flyer of BestBuy where the date 30th of July is mentioned with the words “available Tuesday.”
What will the new generation Nexus tablet be like? The expectations for the device are to arrive without Tegra 3 (apart from the first rumors for the tablet), to work with a Qualcomm Snapdragon under the hood, to sport a sleek body, thinner than the older models Nexus. The new tablet will assure 16GB of internal memory and 7-inch display with thin bezels. The predicted price for the device is $299.99. So far, the strategy for releasing low-cost tablets has brought success for the companies after the introducing of the remarkable Amazon Kindle Fire. Nexus 7 arrives with the ambition to satisfy the needs of tablet users.
As we mentioned above, the first plans for the official release of Nexus 7 were scheduled for May. This step could have boosted the sells for the second quarter of the year. However, Google decided to delay the launch of the tablet because of the concerns of the company for the low inventory levels of the firs-generation tablet. According to sources, ASUS will be shipping 12 million tablets, nearly 7 million units of which will be the two versions of Google Nexus 7. The sells numbers of the Q2 for the company reveal 2.7 million units.
