GameStick and Ubisoft announced an alliance
GameStick users will get ready to rock Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame
Android gamers are familiar with the OUYA console that is perhaps the most successful Kickstarter gaming tech so far. Similar to this device, GameStick doesn’t stay behind as it offers a great gaming experience in a more portable pack. But let’s be rational here- in order for a console to be successful, it must support the best games. The Xbox 360 owes a big percentage of its success to the exclusive Halo franchise and same goes for Sony PlayStation and its God of War series.
So the question is- what does GameStick have to offer to Android gamers? The developers appear to act quickly as they already announced their partnership with Ubisoft. And we all know what does it mean- Far Cry, Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed and other cool franchises every single gamer is way too well informed about.
Well, so far the list for the upcoming games for GameStick isn’t long, in fact there isn’t one yet, but we’ll hold on to the only thing we know. The original announcement has tipped only Prince of Persia, which means GameStick users will get ready to rock Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame. Before you ask about the launch date, the only thing we got is ‘coming soon’. The specific date is yet to be revealed, so we’ll go with ‘soon’ for now. Other details come from Playjam and reveal that the game will be available this year, so the logical assumption is it will come for Christmas.
The Business Developer Manager at Ubisoft commented on the matter:
We have been following GameStick´s progress with keen interest since launch earlier this year. We feel this device and its target market presents an exciting opportunity to further broaden access to our games.
Right now, GameStick is available directly from Playjam and retailers, including GameStop and Amazon for on;y $79.99.
