Durability Upgrade Possible for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
Foldable phones have faced criticism for their durability, with the repeated folding and unfolding leading to wear and tear over time. However, companies like Samsung are actively working on enhancing durability, and the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 could see significant improvements in this aspect.
According to a report from Korean publication The Elec, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is set to receive upgrades to both its screen and hinge durability. The report suggests that Samsung will introduce a thicker “ultra-thin glass,” increasing its thickness from 30 to 50 microns.
This enhancement aims to bolster the hardness of the display while minimizing the crease in the middle of the phone where it bends. While the hinge design will reportedly remain unchanged from the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which has received positive feedback, enthusiasts longing for a hinge redesign may need to wait for the Flip 7.
Despite relatively few complaints about the durability of Samsung’s latest foldables, there’s always room for improvement. These anticipated changes could potentially encourage more users to embrace the foldable form factor.
