Dragon Mobile Assistant for Android ICS and up
When Apple first released the iPhone 4S, the company also introduced its Siri voice assistant. The rival platform Android has long had its own versions of Siri even though many of these not that much fabulous in terms of performance. Google Now has been pretty much well received so far, too.
We now have news of the Dragon Mobile Assistant for Android devices running ICS and up. The Siri rival has just launched on Google Play and, as the Android Community reports, it is still in beta so there are still some minor niggles that need “ironing” out. The application though is available free, and is a great way to interact with your smartphone. Check below the demo video we have embeded for you.
Nuance, the team behind Dragon Mobile Assistant, were responsible for Dragon Go that offers similar features, but this latest app is closer to what’s offered by the Apple’s Siri app. Michael Thompson from Nuance Mobile said that the application was designed to give an “experience in a conversational way and added the most popular personal assistant features”. There is even a hands free mode available which is ideal for when you are driving. The app is easily started by just saying “Hi Dragon”.
The application will also play text messages that are received automatically when the Driver Mode is enabled. There are going to be more new features added to the app in the coming months, and if you have an Android device running Ice Cream Sandwich or above you can download it now from Google Play.
