Bright year in front of LG – New tablet, phablet, smartwatch and a flexible display
LG is planning great announcements and innovations in the next year. The source of the information comes from the recent interview of the Head of LG Bulgaria, Dimitar Valev for the local media Dnevnik. Valev revealed more details about some of the rumored devices by LG, like the tablet G Pad. The new model recently passed through the Federal Communications Commissions and was spotted in the Bluetooth Certification listings as we shared with you awhile ago. It will be an Android running device with expected 8.3-inches display. The new model tablet is a great step for LG to return to the tablets’ arena, after it took several years break from releasing high-end slates.
The company does not stop just there. Valev made a hint that we should soon expect a new phablet coming up from LG. The Korean manufacturer released the large-sized phones LG Optimus G Pro and LG Vu. The expectations for the company are to introduce even larger phablet that will compete against the other 6-inches smartphones on the market. LG has just announced its innovative Quad HD 5.5 display that is yet to be seen integrated in a device.
LG will join the arena of the wearable devices as well and more precisely, the smartwatches. The company is one of the pioneers in this sphere of the mobile world with its first smartwatch released 3 years ago. Perhaps the mobile world was not yet ready to welcome such a concept and the wearable device did not bring the expected success. Valev confirmed that new model smartwatch is part of the plans of LG for the upcoming ear.
Another interesting thing from LG is the flexible display developed by the company. We have seen leaks and pictures here and there but everything shows that we will not wait too long before we see it integrated in devices.
Valev also mentions the plans of LG to return to Windows Phone OS. The Firefox OS might also be part of some of the upcoming devices, depending on the success of the platform.
