BLU Products focuses on large screen Android phones, introduces three new models
BLU has introduced three new smartphones in addition to their Studio Series lineup. With Studio 5.0, Studio 5.0 S and Studio 5.3 S, BLU Products shifts the attention to the screen size – as you can guess from the names, the phones will have 5-inches or larger displays. All handsets are going to be with dualSIM slots and they will come unlocked. The company tries to satisfy the demand for affordable phones with good characteristics and larger screens. The company’s CEO explains that the industry has reached the stage where nothing less than 5-inches is acceptable, but at the same time most of the new handsets with larger screens are too expensive for the customers. That’s why BLU delivers these three new models on the market.
BLU Studio 5.0 packs a dual-core 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM and a display with 800 x 480p. The Studio 5.0 comes with a 5-megapixel main camera and a VGA front-facing camera and 4 GB of internal storage. The BLU Studio 5.0 S has a quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz plus 1 GB of RAM and an increased display resolution of 960 x 540p. The internal storage is 4 GB, while the main camera is 8MP. The BLU Studio 5.3 S has a larger display – 5.3-inches, but the same resolution – 960 x 540p. The other hardware features are the same.
The new devices run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the shipments begin next week. The handsets will be offered at the major online retailers and several dealers in the US. After the US launch, the models will be available in Latin America and other countries. Retail pricing for the BLU Studio 5.0 starts from $149, for the Studio 5.0 S – $209 and for the Studio 5.3 S – $229.
