The key features of the BlackBerry Torch 9860 are: a 3.7-inch display, a single core 1.2 GHz processor and a 5 MP camera. With this model, Research in Motion (RIM) made a significant step toward the touchscreen market. Before the 9860, RIM released Storm and Storm 2 followed by Torch 9800 and 9810. The Torch 9860 is not the slimmest handset on the market – in has a thickness of 11.5mm. There is a modest 3.7 inch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The phone is also not so fast – the processor is a single core instead of a dual-core found on other BlackBerry models. BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a curvy, ergonomic device. That makes it sits comfortably in the hand, while the nice matte finish on the back gives you the secure grip you need. Of course, the phone is far from perfect. For example, the curves around the screen are made of cheap plastic, leading to easy scratching. On the back side, this model carries a 5 MP camera with LED flash, face detection and image stabilization. Under the hood, you will find a 1230 mAh battery and a microSD slot. The internal storage of this phone is 4 GB, while the RAM is 768 MB. |
