AT&T with sales of over 6.4 million smartphones this quarter
They may be named “America’s worst carrier” but this hasn’t stopped AT&T (T) from being a powerful competitor in the wireless industry. CNET reports that according to AT&T wireless chief Ralph de la Vega, the company’s smartphone sales in the fourth quarter of this year have already reached the total of 6.4 million mark. De la Vega also said that AT&T’s total sales for the entire 2012 will estimate 26 million smartphones, or 1 million more than the company’s original plans.
There have been speculations indeed that an LTE iPhone could hurt AT&T smartphone sales growth, but the company has thrived by expanding its smartphone portfolio, including high-end devices such as the Samsung (005930) Galaxy S III, the LG (066570) Optimus G and the Nokia (NOK) Lumia 920.
