AT&T offers one-time replacement opportunity for Galaxy S4 Active damaged by liquids
Samsung Galaxy S4 Active is the version of the flagship purposed for active people who want to use their device everywhere they go, including under water. The extraordinary device has IP67 certificate for water-resistant body in 1 meter deep water for 30 minutes. However not long after the official launch of the device, owners of Galaxy S4 Active provided by AT&T shared many cases when the phone has died soon after it has been put into water. In one of the most popular examples given by the tech reviewer at USA Today Ed Baig he shares how he wanted to take underwater pictures in the swimming pool with his new Galaxy S4 Active but he couldn’t because the phone died much faster than the announced 30 min held within the depth of 1 meter. Soon after such examples begun to emerge, it became clear that the warranty for Samsung Galaxy S4 Active by AT&T does not cover damage caused by liquids.
Owners of the damaged devices certainly were not happy about this fact. AT&T has decided to provide a special option for those cases and to assure a one-time exchange of the damaged device with another Galaxy S4 Active only. It is available only one time, therefore owners must be careful with their replaced phones. This opportunity is related only to devices damaged by liquids. Other types of damages must follow the ordinary procedure. This option is available only for Samsung Galaxy S4 Active phones bought from AT&T.
Those of you, who own the water-proof device, be sure that you have done everything properly before you proceed to use it under water – seal the battery cover well, and be sure that the waterproof seal is tight enough. AT&T has not announced officially a time frame for the exchange option. Neither AT&T nor Samsung have confirmed what the reason for the liquid damage can be.
