Archos presents 45 Helium 4G and 50 Helium 4G
Two new Android phones join the mobile arena – Archos 45 Helium 4G and 50 Helium 4G
Two new Android running budget smartphones are presented in the tech world courtesy by Archos. The manufacturer announced the Archos 50 Helium 4G and its sibling Archos 45 Helium 4G. You have probably already guessed from the names that both models support 4G LTE connectivity which is a great advantage for an affordable modern smartphone.
The two new smartphones are very similar in terms of design and specs. The Archos 45 Helium 4G is the smaller device with a 4.5-inches WVGA display. It is powered by a quad-core processor 1.4GHz with Snapdragon 400 chip and 1GB RAM. It boasts 4GB built-in memory and supports microSD cards. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. The battery of the 45 Helium 4G is with a capacity of 1700mAh. It is provided with a 5MP shooter on the back and VGA camera on the front panel for video calls. The price of the phone is $199.99.
Archos 50 Helium 4G arrives with a 5-inches display with a resolution of 720p. Under the hood of the smartphone is ticking the same processor as its smaller sibling – a quad-core 1.4GHz with Snapdragon 400. It is provided with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage which is expandable via microSD slots. The model is working on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. In terms of battery it is slightly better than the 45 Helium 4G. Its battery is with 2000mAh. The primary camera of the device is set on the rare panel with 8MP. It features a VGA front camera for video calls. The price of the 50 Helium 4G is $249.99. The relatively low prices of both models make them two of the most affordable Android-running smartphones with decent specs.
The biggest advantage of the phones is the LTE connectivity, something that even recently released models like Motorola Moto G do not support. Archos has not revealed yet which markets will get the new devices. We can make the sure guess that the models are purposed for the emerging markets.
