Apple with new camera with amazing options but a 8MP one
It seems that one more time Apple has managed to confuse everybody. The new iPhone 5S is just out and it surprised everyone by having an 8 MP shooter instead of 13MP one. However, as it seems the Apple’s new camera has some improved features that are suppose to make up for the smaller amount of megapixels and we can’t be disappointed about that at least not at this point until we have compared the iPhone 5S to another rival for the market – Samsung Galaxy S4 for example.
It seems that the Apple has decided to preserve the number of megapixels to its usual for now 8MP but at the same time increase the pixels size to 1.5 microns. Whether this choice is going to produce better shots than the 13MP shooters is yet to be seen, however, this is not the only effort that Apple has put into their camera. The aperture has also been increased to f/2.2. The final result of this is that the iPhone 5S’s new 8 MP camera being able to capture 33% more light compared of the iPhone 5’s 8 MP camera — which isn’t a small upgrade.
However, here the question is not whether the upgrade is small or big but will it be enough to beat the other brands especially Nokia, which seems to be leading at least in the camera department.
This upgrade also includes the new device not only capturing brighter images but it also means that the device will be capable of lowering the noise as well.
All in all Apple is betting on quality not quantity of megapixels, however, in the last few years this words have almost become identical in the picture taking. For now the time will show if Apple is on the right track and will it continue on that way.
