Apple ready to announce the Reuse and Recycle Program
The intense changes and innovations in the mobile world, every year more and more high-end devices appear on the market. Each of them claims that satisfies the needs and preferences of users better. Perhaps this is true. However the most modern devices that assure the most fulfilling user experience are rather pricey for customers. Every releases at least one flagship per year and uses different approaches to encourage users to buy the newest model.
Two months ago we heard for first time the idea of Apple to announce a trade-in program for old iPhone devices. The rumors were not officially confirmed but the idea seemed very attractive for users who want to upgrade their smartphones. According to sources, Apple will encourage customers to recycle their old iPhone by bringing to Apple Store. Then the unit will be evaluated and if it is eligible for the program. If the customer agrees with the apprised value, he/she will receive a gift card for this value that can be used for purchasing of new iPhone. For the best convenience of customers, they will back up the information for the device and then the old phone will be packed and shipped to BrightStar to be re-sold in the US.
The idea for the trade-in program seems promising for Apple to boost the sells of the newest flagships. According to a new report shared by 9toMac, the company is ready to release the iPhone Reuse and Recycle Program pretty soon. It is not absolutely clear yet what the criteria for the program are. Of what we know, Apple will accept a broad diversity of devices from the old 3G models to the last year’s flagship iPhone 5. The new iPhone will be offered on a contract.
Recently several similar programs are being provided by different retailers, like BestBuy, Target, eBay. If the rumors for iPhone Reuse and Recycle Program turn out to be true, it will be the vastest trade-in program for Apple’s users. We are yet to find out where, for how long and how the program will be held by the company. The sources reveal that the Reuse and Recycle Program will begin at several places on 30th of August (Friday). We will keep you updated.
