Apple is working on new smartphones, different from its traditional screen sizes
The first half of the year has just rolled out and we already hear rumors and plans for the next year. According to reliable sources of Apple, the company is considering the idea of releasing smartphones with larger screens and new models of colorful iPhone at more affordable price ($99USD).
This strategy comes to battle with the competition to Apple’s smartphones – the Samsung’s phablets. The South Korean manufacturer has been focusing on releasing of different devices with diverse screen sizes and price rates to suit a vast group of customers. According to sources aware with the plans of the company, Apple is working on releasing devices with 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch displays in the next year. The company has not confirmed this information; therefore we can expect changes in the plans until the last minute. Until recently, Apple kept its tradition to launch smartphones with 3.5-inch screens. The iPhone 5 was the first to bring a change in the size of company’s smartphones, with its 4-inch display. It is among the smallest best-selling devices on the market today compared to its rivals Samsung Galaxy S4 with 5-inch screen and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with 5.5-inch display.
The sources also revealed the plans of Apple to release a low-priced smartphones for just $99USD. The affordable devices will have similar specs to the late models iPhone, however they will be made of different materials (perhaps plastic), with colorful cases.
Before that, we are eagerly anticipating the arrival of iPhone 5S with the modern fingerprint technology. Rumors say that it will soon go under tests and trials to be ready for the official announcement sometime in the fall. Sources say that the concept for the plastic iPhone will follow soon after the iPhone 5S. If everything goes by plan, the company will be shipping over 20 million units of the plastic iPhone just before the winter holidays.
