Xpression app takes care of your psychical condition
You’d better be always positive and look at your life on the bright side, because now there is an app which tries to find out whether you are depressed, anxious or distressed. And if you are, it calls your shrink. It is called ‘Xpression’ and is still in development, which is not an obstacle for it to win an award in the UK.
The app takes on the treatment method to ask patients with psychical conditions to keep a diary and write down how they feel every day. However, a lot of patients won’t do that. Here comes the Xpression. It can’t really eavesdrop, don’t worry. What it can do, however, is listen to your in-call conversations, talks with other people around your or even you speaking to pets or plants or the wall and make a sound record. The record is too short to provide any personal information – only 200 milliseconds, but is long enough to analyse your voice and decide whether you are happy or depressed. It logs your results and if it decides you need help, calls a psychiatrist.
Xpression may be really useful for the treatment of patients with psychical disorders or to prevent depression, anxiety etc. However, some people on the Internet mock the app and say that it may as well turn depression in paranoia – knowing someone is always listening to you may be frustrating. We are waiting to see the app and try it ASAP. Don’t hesitate to share your opinion with us!
