Amber, The Nokia Lumia Firmware Update, Now Also Available for Aio Wireless Subscribers
Nokia Lumia firmware update, Amber, already available on Aio Wireless
The last Nokia Lumia firmware update was Amber. It was made available together with Update 2. There have been also stories discussed about the AT&T and the Nokia Lumia 620. Nokia together with AT&T worked on the bringing out of updates. The Amber updates were scheduled for the end of September. But AT&T users got the update later than other company users, e.g. customers of T-Mobile or Verizon.
But there was one more carrier that was behind in terms of getting the Nokia Lumia firmware update. That was Aio Wireless. The Lumia 620 available with Aio Wireless for just $99 was behind in getting its GDR2 and Amber update. But finally last night they had it. The OS and the firmware updates arrived for Aio Wireless users too.
The update for Microsoft GDR2 OS now offers improved features. They include better support for “Other” storage to help reduce users’ bloat. There are also fixes provided for Xbox Music, for FM Radio, for Me Tile image. There is also more comprehensive core access for Nokia. Although because of a design quirk the Lumia 620 will not be able to get FM Radio, there are many new functions available.
The functions comprise the Nokia Pro Camera and Smart Camera, and default camera support. The phone can be easily flipped to silence. There is call and SMS blocking. The Lumia Color Profile is also a new function. Image processing is greatly improved with the new update. Bluetooth technology is also rewardingly improved in the Nokia Lumia firmware update. Users of Nokia Lumia devices need just to double tap in order to wake their devices.
Users of Nokia Lumia devices can open the Check for Updates section to get the new Nokia Lumia firmware update. They can also look forward to the release of the Lumia Black and of the Update 3.
