A bright future for Xiaomi
Good news about the Chinese OEM Xiaomi. The company turned a profit of $2.16 billion for the Q1 in 2013. The financial results for the first quarter are better than the whole 2012. In 2012 Xiaomi earned just $2.05 billion. So, things are getting more optimistic ahead of the annual Xiaomi event on August 16. Next month, a couple of new devices will be introduced and the company did a pretty good job with its latest additions. We can say that the products are very successful and Xiaomi is doing it right. The financial data proved it.
Xiaomi achieved these results because of its successful smartphones and Xiaomi Box. The company’s CEO explains that Xiaomi has sold 7.03 million phones, as well as many Xiomi Boxes and phone accessories. The company enjoys a huge popularity in the home country. In June, Xiaomi had over 14 million customers in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, while the total number of customers around the globe reached 20 million. The company has some ambitions plans about the global expansion. The first efforts were in the neighboring countries – Taiwan and Hong Kong, where Xiaomi uses a classic online retail model plus partnerships with some local carriers.
The mobile market in China is growing. Therefore, it will remain the main focus for Xiaomi. With the growth, many people will experience the mobile services and the Chinese has the unique chance to establish itself as a major player on the market and build its brand name, a player that is respected by consumers, because of its quality products. A player that can fight against Apple or Samsung on that market. Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun adds:
“The most important for us is our customers. We don’t want just to sell them some products, we want to make them scream and build a long-time relationship.”
