T-Mobile works on a Prism II (made by Huawei)
According to the newest rumours, T-Mobile has turned to Huawei with the task to create a successor of the low-end phone T-Mobile Prism, released last spring. T-Mobile Prism II will be a low-cost phone, too and will be ideal for those who don’t want too much from their device or can’t spent a lot on a phone.
The earlier version, T-Mobile Prism, is now free with contract on the net of T-Mobile. This won’t be the case soon – earlier today we reported to you that T-Mobile is leaving the contracts in the past and will sell full-price phones. However, when the first phone was announced, it cost only $249 unlocked and off-contract, so don’t worry – you will still be able to afford it, if you want.
Prism II, however, adds a lot to its predecessor. First of all, it will come with Jelly Bean, not with Gingerbread. Then, the CPU rate is higher – from 600MHz it will now become 1GHz. Some of you may argue that 1GHz is no longer something, but we have seen such devices run perfectly well with Jelly Bean, so we will have to put up with this.
There are no other leaked specifications yet, but the phone is expected to sport the same display as the first version – 3.5’’ with QVGA resolution. Maybe it won’t support LTE, but it may come with HD in-call voice, which is said to be a must-have feature of all future T-Mobile devices. There’s no word of price or release date yet.
