Two more devices by Alcatel
The third day of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona brought us 3 new devices by Alcatel. The French-based company seems to try becoming an active player on the mobile market again. The two new devices it introduced are Alcatel One Touch Snap and One Touch Snap LTE. Let’s see what they got.
Well, maybe you are guessing that the two devices differ only in the LTE support, but this is not the case. One Touch Snap is not as powerful as the Idol X, but it is worth considering. It will come with quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz rate – the manufacturer is not yet specified, its RAM will be 1GB and the screen – 4.5’’ with qHD resolution. The screen is powered by Dragontail Glass and this makes it well protected and resistant to fingerprints (oleophobic coating). The device employs two cameras – rear at 8MP and a front at 1.3MP. Only 2.4GB of the 4GB storage capacity is accessible, but there is a microSD card slot. One Touch Snap comes with Jelly Bean and a tolerable 1800mAh battery.
The One Touch Snap LTE has some differences. It has a bigger display – 4.65’’, but a lower resolution – FWVGA (480×854). Its 8MP camera is better than the non-LTE version – it records full HD videos and the front camera is 2MP, not 1.3. However, the LTE version’s processor is dual-core at 1.4GHz by Snapdragon and it doesn’t sport the latest Jelly Bean update.
According to Alcatel, we should expect the devices in April and July respectively. What do you think? Which would you choose?
