Huawei’s Ascend Mate – first impressions
Huawei are showing off their 6.1-inch Ascend Mate phablet at the event of the month – the CES 2013. Here are the first ‘hands-on’-impressions of the much discussed device.
Upon first picking up the Ascend Mate in the hand, it looks huge yet it’s actually surprisingly light. In size, the Ascend Mate is approaching Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, so … could we classify it as kind of hybrid between a phablet and a tablet?
The Ascend Mate is also very pleasant to look at. The device is featured by a distinctive decorative element, a plastic chassis, coming in both glossy white and matte black. As for its performance everyone there agrees that the Ascend Mate is really fast. This should be no surprise, considering its quad-core 1.8GHz processor and 2GB of RAM. It is also equipped with a 4000mAh battery, that ensures to its owners long hours of use.
Trully, the Ascend Mate has opened a new niche in handset devices, and filled it perfectly with its big and beautiful 6.1-inch 1080p display and powerful internals. Would be exciting to see who’s going to join it!
