Samsung Exynos 5440 quad-core for Galaxy S4
Samsung’s brand new Exynos 5250 dual-core processor, powering the Nexus 10 tablet, is the only production mobile processor currently based on the Cortex-A15. The chip is extremely fast, powerful, and efficient. You, lucky Nexus 10 owners must know that!
Now Samsung’s own Kernel Git page has confirmed the coming of the Exynos 5440 quad-core, to power up (as we hope!) Samsung’s new Galaxy S4 smartphone. In particular, the board is identified as “SSDK5440”, but for now there are no too many details concerning its speed, RAM support, or anything else. It’s safe to say this must be the future of their smartphones, tablets, and even ultrabooks like the new Samsung Chromebook.
As for the above mentioned upcoming Galaxy S IV, rumors have it that it will boast a 4.99-inch 1080p HD display, a quad-core processor, 13 megapixel camera, and more. Pair a 1080p display with a Cortex-A15 based quad-core processor and hopefully Android 4.3 Key Lime Pie (or 5.0) Samsung will have another winner on their hands.
CES and the first few months of 2013 are going to be really exciting!
