The Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 will have an IP67 water resistance rating
It appears that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab S9 series tablet may feature IP67 water and dust resistance, which has been missing from their flagship tablets thus far. According to SamMobile, the tablet is set to have the IP67 rating for water resistance.
The customers of Samsung’s high-end tablets have been requesting this for some time, so this development is very exciting. It marks the next stage in the progress of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab series.
The Galaxy Tab S9’s IP67 water resistance is a major selling point for Samsung fans. Although the company released some “Active” tablets in the past that had water resistance, its high-end tablet line had been missing this feature until now. It was surprising that even in 2022, when Samsung’s foldables had water resistance, the Galaxy Tab S8 series still did not.
It is clear that Samsung has the capability to make the Galaxy Tab S9 series water resistant with an IP67 rating. If a foldable smartphone can be made water resistant, it stands to reason that a tablet should be able to be treated the same way. It is great news that Samsung is giving this idea serious consideration.
The outcome of this situation is uncertain at this point in time. Currently, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series will be water resistant this year, yet it is not unusual for plans regarding a device to be altered. As an example, Samsung had intended to include the S Pen with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 this year, but it appears to have reversed its decision.
Without the IP67 rating, the Galaxy Tab S9 series is already positioned to be a top contender for the best Android tablet of 2023. With this feature, the Galaxy Tab S9 series will have no equal in its class, raising its status to unprecedented heights.
We won’t see the Galaxy Tab S9 series from Samsung until at least the second half of this year, so we have to wait a bit longer for confirmation. Here’s hoping it’s worth the wait!
