A more compact LG G Flex 2 might be launching during the Holiday Season
LG is rumored to be working on the LG G Flex’s successor, set to arrive at the end of 2014
After winning the battle for bringing the first curved smartphone to the market in fall 2013, the Korean company LG might be working on its second-generation curved phone, but this time with a smaller screen. Sources close to LG India have revealed to Gizbot that LG G Flex 2 is expected to launch before the end of the current year, and compete with iPhone 6s and other high-end devices for the consumers’ love.
LG G Flex 2 has been described as a more compact phone than its predecessor, with a possible QHD display with unknown size (below 6 inches). The rumored flexible G Flex 2 Android phone will debut in the homeland, according to the same source, and then arrive in the UK, US, and other key markets.
Aside from being flexible with a self-healing back, we are curious to learn what kind of innovations LG will bring with the new model. For those not familiar, the first G Flex had a 6-inch display with a 720p resolution. There was a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor inside running at 2.26 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, and a monster 3500 mAh removable battery under the self-healing back. Despite having decent specs, the LG G Flex wasn’t a great success, maybe because of its design and material used. Not many users would prefer to have a phone with curved screen and display, something that has just a few advantages if any.
